Onyx is a wonderful blend of both of his parents. Dignified as his father, but with a very joyous outlook on life inherited from his mother. He is very charming and endearing. His strengths include a correct Whippet head with perfect crisp ears and black eyes, a wonderfully smooth, shapely body with a nice tidy tuck up. His gait is low and free moving. A tribute to his pedigree.

His show career was quite respectable. Owner handled in stiff California competition, he is a Specialty BiSweeps winner and finished quickly. Briefly specialed, he snagged several breeds and group placements, an Award of Merit at the 1998 AWC Western Regional Specialty, capped off by a highly competitive BOS at the 1996 Canadian National Specialty from the Veteran class!

His puppies are marked with his joyous outlook on life as well as his winning ways! A sire of merit he has produced an AWC Specialty major point winner, group winners, as well as a Canadian multiple BIS winner. Selectively used he is a sire of quality. Onyx is found in many, many modern pedigrees most notably through his famous producing son, Ch Rhode Paved with Gold, ROMX.

He is a sentimental favorite of ours and we thank Bill and Lynn Weller for their devotion to Onyx, their first Whippet and best friend.
